Notes : Patrick J. Kearney indicates, in The Private Case (no 1870) that The Way of a Man with a Maid was published in Paris ca. 1895 and could be attributed to John S. Farmer.

A sequel to The Way of a Man with a Maid was published as A Week-end Visit in the 1920's to 1930's, possibly by a different author despite the mention "by the same author as The Way of a Man with a Maid".

There is a Christian marriage guide, also intitled The Way of a Man with a Maid (Nashville, Tenn., Cokesbury Press ca. 1931), by Clarence Edward Macartney; both works must not be confused.
